Thinking about getting a new radio...

Postby JoeNolasco » Wed Aug 12, 2015 9:30 pm

As the title says, I'm thinking of getting a new radio, mostly because I need MOAAARRRR channels. The Jeti line of transmitters has caught my eye and I'm seriously thinking about getting one!

Anyone want to talk me off the ledge?

Nowadays you gotta think about power management through Xbus or Sbus, too. With Xbus you need a JR radio, with Sbus I'm not sure you need a Futaba Radio?

I'm thinking about the DS-14 "Army" Edition. This one comes as a $800 base system with purchasable software updates to unlock features you may or may not want/need. They have the DS-16 that comes with the kitchen sink but it also comes with a $1700 price tag!

Twin transmitter/receiver systems built in for complete redundancy when used with two receivers, 14 channels, EX Bus, Hall Sensor Gimbals, Accelerometers, Some pretty awesome stuff! And you can turn your plane on from the radio! WHAAAAAT. How ridiculous is that?

I'm pleased to say that we (P1Hobbies.com) are now dealers for Jeti radio systems! And Secraft option parts! I have a shiny DS-14 on the way! I also have a R9, R11 and a Central box 200/RSW Receiver combo coming so I can outfit all of my planes!
